This self-help program is for those concerned about the drug or alcohol abuse and related bahavioral problems of a loved one. The group offers support, encouragement and understanding for those dealing with these issues. The group meets every Monday from 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the Cafe Meeting Room in the lower level of the hospital. The program is free and registration is not required.

Arthritis Support Group
This self-help group, endorsed by the Arthritis Foundation, is for people living with arthritis and offers opportunities to share common problems and learn new ways to cope. Meetings also provide low-impact exercise sessions. Meetings will be held Sept. 24, Oct. 22, Nov. 19 and Dec. 17, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. in the Centennial Conference Center B on the seventh floor of the hospital. Registration is not required. Free.
Cardiac
Living a Healthier Lifestyle
In the Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation Program Phase III, heart patients and people concerned with cardiac health learn to develop a healthy lifestyle. A cardiac stress test, lipid profile, risk factor analysis and diet counseling are required to participate. The program is offered Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. To learn more or to schedule an appointment, please call 773-794-8420.

This free monthly support group for the middle-aged and seniors with Type 2 diabetes focuses on the emotional side of diabetes and allow participants to share coping strategies, feelings and problems in living with diabetes. Meetings take place the first Tuesday of each month, from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m., in the 2-West Community Education Room on the second floor. Addiction Education Program
Family members who are coping with the addictive behavior of a loved one will learn strategies for managing and coping. Discussions focus on explaining the disease model of addiction. Sessions are held the first and third Tuesday of each month from 6 p.m. to 7:30p.m. in the lower level Cafe Meeting Room, adjacent to the cafeteria seating area. Registration is not required. Free.
